The Purple Iris Tea Room – Charming Handmade Tea Delights & Cozy Ambiance in Lake Placid, FL

Took my granddaughter here for a lovely lunch. The atmosphere is delightful, the prices typical for tea places, and the waitress was friendly & helpful. Would suggest they find a way to keep the tea hotter, but all in all it was a good experience! Make a reservation - it's just easier.

What an absolutely beautiful tea room with a very welcoming hostess Sharion! You feel welcome from the minute you step foot in the door till the time you leave. And the food is fantastic. It is a relaxing meal where everything is made to order so it all fresh, so it's not the place to go when you are in a hurry, but rather the place to enjoy the atmosphere with good friends and relax and have wonderful food. The soup we had we about the best soup I ever had. EVER! Then we had the tea service. Everything was wonderful and we had a great afternoon with friends.

We had a great experience ! The atmosphere made us feel comfortable and brought back memories of tea parties with grandma. Everything on the tea trays is homemade and is delicious ! Color changing tea was a big hit !!!!

Such a fun restaurant located in charming Lake Placid Florida. The decor is so unique. Collectible tea pots and dishes, unique decorations throughout and beautiful chandeliers add to the ambience of a delightful environment. The food was all hand crafted with love by the restaurant entrepreneur who visits with the guests to allow you to instantly appreciate all the hard work she has invested to provide an overall outstanding customer experience. I had the best ever chicken salad and my friend the excellent loaded baked potato which are pictured. The menu choices are unique recipes, homemade, and yummy from homemade crackers with cream cheese & pepper jelly as an appetizer to a variety of entrees. We definitely will return.

My friends took me here for the first time and I loved every bit of it. I felt the coziness from the moment I walked in the door. I had lovely conversations with the owner and the food was so good from start to finish. The crackers with the cheese and jelly were amazing. The beef stroganoff was tender and the vegetables were so yummy. I always drink unsweetened iced tea and it was so fresh and not watered down. The final deliciousness was the coconut cake. I will definitely eat there again and look forward to more conversations. I recommend this to everyone. It’s a taste of home in every way and very peaceful from start to finish. What a pleasant afternoon. My daughter had come over from West Palm Beach and asked me if we could go and grab a bite to eat here in Lake Placid. I informed her that most of the places were closed because it was almost 2 PM but I had heard of the new tea room in town and asked her if she would like to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise. There were just a few customers inside as they were closing at 3 PM and we were treated to a wonderful lunch. The staff was just incredible and friendly and very informative, as well as engaging. I ordered the special which was a shrimp pasta that came with a broccoli and cheddar cheese soup as well as a nice side salad. My daughter ordered the tea tray assortment and we both opted for a fresh hot pot of tea. The tea was shared and was absolutely delicious, while all of the food was wonderful. We had such a nice afternoon as it rained outside and beat down on the metal roof. we were also treated to a harpist who occasionally picked up his violin and gave us some wonderful songs. He engaged us as well and we had another delightful conversation. Dessert was a homemade cheesecake that was nice and creamy. Very yummy and topped with blueberries. Pricing was in line with a typical tea room, which is a little bit higher than a normal lunch, but this was well worth it for the experience. I hardly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice change of pace in the town of Lake Placid. #stevensleavin

This was the first time I visited here and my granddaughter and I had an awesome time! The atmosphere is fantastic. The food was very good and the tea was phenomenal. What a great time we had for a lunch date. I had the chicken salad sandwich on croissant and my granddaughter had the turkey sandwich both were delicious. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back and recommend to friends and family!

Took my mom for a late lunch. We were able to be seated right away. They recommended the purple Iris tea and we both agreed it was delightful. Sweet but not too sweet. Had the chicken salad sandwich which came on a croissant so yummy and creamy! We ended with a strawberry cheesecake that was out of this world!!! You can tell everything is made fresh and with love. Highly recommend for your next girls outting!
